Bruce Brown Immortalized with Statue in Dana Point, CA

A statue of legendary filmmaker and creator of 'The Endless Summer', Bruce Brown, was unveiled on Thursday September 19 in the 'Waterman Plaza' of Dana Point, CA. During the '60s, Bruce and his tight-knit group of surfer buddies were dubbed the "Dana Point Mafia" and they had a profound effect on the surf scene during that time as well as the surf industry as a whole.

The life-sized sculpture was created by artist Bill Limebrook, who grew up nearby on Beach Road in Dana Point. Bruce's iconic statue stands beside statues of surf legends Hobie Alter and Phil Edwards who were also extremely influential in the Dana Point surf scene.

The statue is accompanied by a mosaic of the artwork from 'The Endless Summer'.

An incredible and well deserved honor for Bruce!
