THE SURFING CONNECTION
Australian researchers found that children with cystic fibrosis that surfed had significantly healthier lungs. Doctors determined that inhaling saltwater mist has a powerful effect on re-hydrating the lining of the lungs, which allows individuals with cystic fibrosis to more easily eliminate life-threatening, bacteria-contaminated mucus. This discovery led researchers to develop a hyper tonic saline solution for individuals with cystic fibrosis around the world that mimics a ‘surf session’. We were approached by the local Orange County chapter for Cystic Fibrosis in 2010 with a simple donation request. 5 years later we are honored to be involved with ‘Pipeline to a Cure’, There is an annual gala event and live auction where we have an opportunity to offer custom Artist collaboration Surfboards boards along with celebrity guided tours in Costa Rica, featuring surf, golf and fishing.

CHANGES IN OUR LIVES
CureDuchenne was founded in Newport Beach in 2003 with a focus on saving the lives of those with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disease that affects more than 300,000 children and young adults worldwide. With support from CureDuchenne the FDA could approve three pharmaceutical treatments in 2016. These treatments may lessen the effects of the disease for those with certain mutations of Duchenne, but there is still much to be done to find a cure.
Since 2013, we have been honored to join Ryan Getzlaf (Captain of the Anaheim Ducks), in the 'Getzlaf Golf Shootout', a two day Charity event. The event brings together athletes, celebrities, and community leaders, all teaming up in support of CureDuchenne.
